I am looking for a site that has free census records (if that exists(, though I am not having much luck. My great-great-great grandfather, Johann Adam Duhs had a house in Germany in the 1860's before coming to Australia and we have supposed address. Is there a way I could check if this house did belong to him and / or his family? Even if it is post 1860's there may still be family living in the house. Thanks for your time! Hi Chantel, I had a similar inquiry where i wanted to find out the names of the people whom employed my grandmother during WW2. I had an address but that was it. So i emailed the Nurnberg Archives ( Stadtarchiv@stadt.nuernberg.de ) and they supplied with me full names of everyone, and there was 5 people from this family, DOB, and the death dates of the husband and wife. They even told me when this family first started living in this house and when they were no longer there. So try archives for the area in which your ancestor lived. Good Luck Bobby (Queenslander)
Hi Chantel, have you the adress of the house? If so, please write it and I'll look, if I can find out anything. regards from germany Manuela ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris & Channie" <christopherames@bigpond.com.au> To: <baden-wurttemberg@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 04, 2008 10:17 AM Subject: [BW] German Census Records >I am looking for a site that has free census records (if that exists(, > though I am not having much luck.
