    3. My 3 great grandfather's first and middle name was Franz Mathias. Once he settled in America he went by Frank or Mathew. I wouldn't necessarily leave out Francis. Franz's wife went by Francis once in America. It will depend on the records you are able to find under which name. Don't know about bout the last name issue. Would Francis or Frank be appropriate? Also, I have a relative that has a father with the last name Rolf and a mother with the last name Diekemper, the relatives last name is listed as Rolf-Diekemper, but when he came to America he went by simply Diekemper. Does this mean that he was adopted later by the father or did they give both names in the case of not being legally married. I have relatives that took the females last name because of wealth in the family, but I've never came across the two names together as a Surname. Thanks for any help~Gayla ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to BADEN-WURTTEMBERG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
