I tried both Familysearch.org and the IGI index (for Heidelberg) site without success. You will need to supply his religion and perhaps a more exact location than simply Heidelberg to get further. I am also wondering about the spelling. If Sheets is the translation of the name in sound, then maybe the spelling should be Schietz. In any case, good luck. I didn't find any easy hit. There is a Heidelberg in Baden, Sachsen and Hessen and I assume you are interested in the Heidelberg in Baden. Have you tried looking at the microfilm of the church records that you can attain from Family Search for Heidelberg? (http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp ) It looks like they have filmed the different church records from 1569 - 1961 and reviewing them may help you locate something. The church records are just some of the documents that have been microfilmed for Heidelberg.
