Dear List, I am hoping somebody [bodies], will be able to help me with this task. My ggg grandfather, Norbert SIEFERMANN and his wife Birgette or FRANZISKA nee SCHURR and their small daughter Mar. Anna emigrated to America in 1854. I paid a fellow in Germany to research this family and received from him 9 pages of documents relating to their emigration application (I think). It is all in German and since the fellow did not follow through and translate it for me, I can't be sure what it means. The cover page has these words (if I can get the old German script right): Grobherzoglich Badifches Sezirfsamt Uchern Berwaltungs=Cachen Drt Seebach Rubrif: Wegrug Beneath that is Norbert Siefermann's name and I think something about Seebach and his family off to America. Near the bottom of the page is Jahr 1854. Would some kind soul help me with the translation? Additionally, could somebody point me in the right direction to find the families of these persons. I don't know whether they were Catholic or Lutheran or what and I don't have a clue where to begin looking. Sincerely, Marty McElhaney Texas
There many Germans in Texas. I'm sure with a little checking you could get those pages translated.
