Me: Charles, remember, your ancestors were from Rheinau, not Rheinbishofsheim. The former is close to the latter but it's not certain Rheinau residents attended church in Rheinbishofsheim. They may have gone to Freistett. I couldn't figure it out. If you don't mind digging in, what you're going to do is not a bad start but don't be too discouraged if you don't find your people in the Rheinbishofsheim books. Hopefully a list member will enlighten us about where Rheinau residents went to church. If not, go ahead with Rheinbishofsheim. FYI, a group of these villages are now grouped together into the municipality of Stadt Rheinau with website at www.rheinau.de One idea is to write to the town's archivist, Dirk Wacker, at mailpost@rheinau.de I would write in English, keep it simple and ask in which church residents of the village of Rheinau in the early to mid 1800's attended church. Give him the names and approx. birth years of your ancestors. Sometimes you get responses to these emails and it could save you some time/money later on. Regards, Paul near Portland, Oregon
