    3. Kenneth, The number you quote, 850004, is the number of an LDS Family History Library microfilm where the application to leave the Kingdom of Würtemberg is shown. It is from the "county" that is centered in Tuttlingen. The emmigration records will give more details. Visit your local LDS Family History Center to rent the microfilm. ============ Auswanderungsakten, 1806-1891 Tuttlingen (Württemberg). Oberamt (Main Author) Emigration from the district of Tuttlingen, Württemberg, Germany; includes internal migrations, emigration to European countries, the United States and elsewhere. Includes indexes. ============ On that same record where you found the microfilm number should be the name of the exact village where the family was from. You should be able to also rent the records for that village at your FHC. 3. Kenneth, on Wuerttemberg Emigration Index I found a Karl Strobel born 28 Jan. 1842, emigrated in April 1857, Maria Strobel, emigrated before 1857, and a Peter Strobel, emigrated in 1853. No more dates listed. All three persons are from the village of Weigheim, district Tuttlingen. I would suggest that you go to LDS Family Center and get the film no. 999725, that is the familyregister from Weigheim. Familyregister should have an index, look for the name Strobel. There is one page for each family, showing bride groom and his parents, the pride and her parents, date of marriage, plus all their children. And most likely it states their emigration, if they ever did. Then you can find out if that is your family. When you search in Germany search for Karl not for Charles, and for Maria and not Mary. One listmember mentioned the name Stroebel, most likely that is wrong. The name is either Stroebele (Ströbele) or Strobel. 3. My grandmother wrote her name, and the ship manifest reads, Wilhelmina Ströbel. (I use Stroebel so as not to have to bother with the umlaut) so I do not see how it could be "wrong".
