    3. I haven't kept up with "my" rootsweb newsletters lately, so I apologize if this has already been addressed. For years and years I have searched for my great grandfather's baptismal/birth record in Germany. We know that he was born in Heidelberg in Oct 1851; this is an undisputed fact. Alas, no amount of searching showed him as "existing" until his confirmation certificate from St. Georg's German Chapel (from St. George's Episcopal Church) in New York City.Lo, and behold, I typed his name "Theodor Schultze" into the LDS pilot site along with his mother's maiden name, "Sidonie Seckler" and his name appeared! I now know that his baptismal name was "Karl Theodor Ferdinand Schultze". Oh yes, "Schultze" was misspelled as "Schultz", but that's often the case with my last name!If you haven't had a chance to "check out" the new site, do take a look at it. It is as it says, a "PILOT" site not near to being finished, but when it is, it will be absolutely awesome!http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=0Roberta SchultzeSan Jose, California

    3. I agree, it holds great promise! Don't let that ad that pops up fool you. Census records are there for free, printable or save-able. :-) Don
