Hi Shirley, Do you mean that you've seen data whose submitter is listed as Max Cramer? The term "extractions" is LDS genealogy refers to data "extracted" from old records by unnamed volunteers over several decades. The volunteers were amateurs but were trained and supervised and checked for accuracy. Those records are pretty good but no attempt was ever made to assemble a family, just transcribe the record and put it into a computer database. You might have a marriage which shows husband and wife and later a birth to the couple but no attempt to show they are the same couple. A later birth to the couple makes no indication there was a previous birth/older sibling. If you find data that has been extracted, the best next step is to order the microfilms and go through the records yourself (about 50 times). If you have the name of a submitter, you don't have an extraction. You have his/her submission which may have relied on an extraction. If the data matches up with your target ancestor, I would also order the films and look at them myself.
