    2. Craig, just for the record: the B-3 is not a "Reichsbahn" (that was the German railway administration until 1945) but a "Bundesstraße" (Bundesstrasse, federal street). Judy, did you notice there is still a family named Schlageter in Oberschopfheim? Two more families, probably relatives, are living in neighbouring towns. 2. Judy Oberschopfheim has been part of Friesenheim only since 1972. From 1806 to 1936 it would be Oberschopfheim, Offenburg, Baden. Offenburg was the Amtsbezirk (admin district). From 1936 it would be Oberschopfheim, Lahr, Baden. Where Lahr is the Landkreis (county). There is a new book on 1250 years of Oberschopfheim available from the village for 32 euros. Just search for Oberschopfheim . Kent In a message dated 1/6/2014 6:48:29 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, festwiz@icloud.com writes: Craig, Thanks. I did check my map. 3. Hello, The information below is not the same person. And I certainly thank you for posting. Rosina Isenberger (there are various spellings) died around 1870 and her husband remarried that year. I have a copy of the marriage to his second wife. Rosina died in Baltimore, Md. We have not found a record yet of her death after looking everywhere for the past 8 years. I am beginning to think they buried her in the back yard. haha It is questionable where she came from because of the spelling of her town on different documents. From my posts and answers it varies from Deisendorf to Teisendorf. One of her relatives could very well be listed below but I have no way of knowing. Thanks again. 3. Hello Mary Ann, Only one LDS film is available for birth records around 1828: Taufen (Jahre fehlen) = (years missing) 1824-1853 FHL INTL Film #1271775 Items 3-4. You will also note that the these records are held by the Staatsarchiv München when filmed by the LDS in 1982. Perhaps you could contact them for further advice on their Teisendorf holdings: http://www.gda.bayern.de/english.php It cost nothing to e-mail: St-Andreas Kirche in Teisendorf. Ask if your message could be passed on to a local historian if they can't help you. If you enter Irrenberger in the German phone book and also check the surname distribution maps based on the phone book, you will see there are no entries for Irrenberger only IHRENBERGER, I suspect Irrenberger may have been a miss spelling. However there is a single research inquiry about a Susanna Irrenberger born in 1590 in Sachen, but nothing for Ihrenberger at: http://meta.genealogy.net/?lang=en Unfortunately no results either names from Geneanet http://en.geneanet.org/search/ It only costs you postage to write to one or two of the Ihrenberger's in the German phone book as I previously suggested. Everyone is trying to help you, but there is a lot you can still do for free online. Are you still subscribing to the Bavaria mailing list? If not, I suggest re subscribe and ask some of your questions there, now that you have some new leads. Someone may be familiar with the records in Teisendorf or perhaps help you with the correct spelling of the family name. Have you looked at https://familysearch.org/search There is a Maria Catharina Ihrenberger, father Francisci Ihrenberger, christened on 26 Nov 1601 in SANKT GERMAN UND SANKT MORITZ KATHOLISCH, SPEYER, PFALZ, BAVARIA. see below: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/ND71-7MQ Elizabeth On 4/01/2014 12:42 PM, Mary Ann Dess wrote: > The documents I posted was pointed out that it may be Irrenberger if I > remember correctly. 3. Also try Geneanet.  There is free and a paid version.  But the free version at least lets you know where and how many records for that name / area exist.   Laura >________________________________ > From: Mary Ann Dess <madess@comcast.net> >To: baden-wurttemberg@rootsweb.com >Sent: Friday, January 3, 2014 7:42 PM >Subject: Re: [BW] concerning a post in Dec Ellizabeth and Bill > > >The documents I posted was pointed out that it may be Irrenberger if I >remember correctly.  I am at the point that it could be anything except >Isenberger.  I think that is what it was changed to when they immigrated >somewhere.  So I am going to have to check all spellings.  I wish there were >on line records as I quite a few films to order at the LDS.  The price adds >up.  thanks to all. > >-----Original Message----- >From: Elizabeth >Sent: Friday, January 03, 2014 6:54 PM >To: baden-wurttemberg@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [BW] concerning a post in Dec > >Hello Mary Ann, > >I would check the LDS films first to see the family name IHRENBERGER >appears in the churchbooks. 3. Mary Ann, to find out where those towns are you should use Wikipedia (in German), you will find a map of Germany on the right side: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teisendorf http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolnzach For genealogical sources see http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/Teisendorf There is also a list for BAVARIA: http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/DEU/BAVARIA.html https://familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp Place Germany, Bayern, Teisendorf References (Use for) Germany, Bayern, Markt Teisendorf Topics Germany, Bayern, Teisendorf - Church records Germany, Bayern, Teisendorf - Dwellings Germany, Bayern, Teisendorf - Emigration and immigration Good luck! 1. Re: [BW] concerning a post in Dec
    2. Wolnzach is in Bavaria about 20 miles north of the Munich airport. Teisendorf is also in Bavaria about 60 miles southeast of Munich or 10 miles west of Salzburg Austria. Deisendorf and Teisendorf may be the same place as D and T are often interchanged in place names. Kent In a message dated 1/3/2014 10:36:15 A.M. Marianne Sutter did his genealogy for us. Is Wolnzach near this Teisendorf? I will have to go back and look at all the responses I printed off. People have been so kind to help. Anyway, do you know what I should look for in contacting the LDS for films? If I hit a dead end here, I could possibly write to someone in Tiesendorf. Names were mangled in immigration records and they wrote down whatever they heard. I guess it was easier just to let it be and go by the spelling instead of trying to correct it. This makes sense as I know there was a distance from Deisendorf and Wolnzach and no one has found any Isenberger's near Diesendorf. And again thank you very much. Mary
