Marvin, Can you please do a look up for me in the copy of the list you have of prisoners held at Rastatt in 1848 & 1849? The name I am interested in is DANZEISEN or alternate spellings of it. The family came from the Eichstetten and Teningen areas of Baden, including their surrounding towns (i.e. Nimburg). If other DANZEISEN's are listed I would be interested in knowing that, in case in the future we do find a connection to them. I am looking for a Christian Lampel (Lamfel) born approx 1832. Had a son named Leonard (Gerard) Lampel (Lamfel) in 1853-1856. I am not sure if you came to the US to fight in the Civil War for Union. I found all the US records I could find on him and am trying to place him in Germany somehow. Any ideas?
