BODY { font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px; } Looking for Johann Stuft frrom Freudenstadt Jacob Haas B-W. I know they are many jacob Haas' but that is all I can offer. Thank you, Max
I just sent the following link. I realize it is not the complete list when I could not find my ancestors or their ship. You probably need to find the roll of film that corresponds with your ancestors' arrival in New Orleans and read the film. Several large libraries have the film... Dallas Public Library and Birmingham Public Library... just to mention a couple. Perhaps you live near a large library which will have the film in their inventory. There is an "Alphabetical Index Cards to Passengers Arriving in the Port of New Orleans Prior to 1900." National Archives Film T527. This may be accessible on the Internet, I don't know as my research was basically done before the advent of the Internet. But if not, you can rent the film and see if your Mueller is on the list. If so it should should his place of origin and the name of the ship. You then can also rent a microfilm showing the ship's manifest and see who may have traveled with him. Our library used to have a catalog which listed films available through the National Archives so it was easy to determine which roll I needed. Hello Jon, Thank you very much for researching the Appel names. I don't think Moses would fit in with my family but by coincidence I am very good friends with a woman that was born in Siegelsbach and whose Mother still lives there!! However, the Appel spelling sounds good, my husband's name is George Appel and the name has gone back several generations. Jeanne Appel

Hi, I was wondering if you could please check for the surname Bruestle/Bruestlen/Bruestlin and Buehler. Thanks so much. Laura Gutknecht Cella
I have a couple of emigration records of possible ancestors living (in their time) in Cincinnati, OH that allegedly came from Baden to New Orleans before ending up in Cincinnati. But I have been very skeptical that someone would emigrate to Cincinnati through New Orleans: New York or Philadelphia would seem far more reasonable, but I have so far not found similar records of family members coming through those ports. Does anyone on this list have reason to accept such a claim? Why would someone travel from New Orleans to Cincinnati to settle when there were so many other more convenient towns along the way to homestead? -Stuart > > I have trying to find out where in Baden, Germany my gGrandfather, Valentin Mueller was born.
