Book covers N.Y., N.J. Penn., Kings Co N.Y., Long Island, etc. William was b. c1605, married c1636 Mary Badye. The birthplace and parentage of William cannot be documented at present. It is probable he was born in either Holland or France and his father's given name was Adriaen. William is listed on the Huguenot Society Register. This book expands & consolidates upon other books dealing with William and his descendants, i.e., works of Teunis G Bergen, Andrew D Chidsey, Jr., John Reynolds Totten, Andrew J Provost, Jr., Wilson V. Ledley, and Althea M. Courtot. Among the many prominently mentioned related families are Kouwenhoven, Rapalje, Ryder, Schenck, Stillwell, Strycker, Van Brunt, Van Voorhies, and Wyckoff. 324 pages, the book has an index of over 5,000 names, a bibliography of 151 sources and numerous photographs.
