    3. I have been trying to figure out the relationship of the Hargis-Bennett-Skaggs relationships as all three families are connected by marriage, probate and children in Tennessee and Arkansas in the mid to late 1880s. Finally got the Census Report for 1850 from the Tennessee Archives. It shows Jonathan Hargus 32 m 450 GA, Teresy Hargus 30 f TN (married that year)Timothy Bennett 19 m TN, Sarah Bennett 18 f TN, Mary Bennett 17 f TN (both of these in school), Joseph Bennett 16 m TN, Frederic 9 m TN. I checked the 1820-1858 Shelby County Marriages and found: Timothy Bennett md Elizabeth N. Leremore 25 Apr 1854 Shelby Co TN Sarah Bennett md Gabriel Braden 19 Spr 1853 Shelby Co TN Mary Bennett md W.C. Isom 24 Dec 1851 Shelby Co TN Joseph Bennett md Eliza Taylor 25 Mar 1856 Shelby Co TN Frederic Bennett md J.P. Tranthan 04 Mar 1858 Shelby Co TN W.C. Isom is listed in Fayette County TN as having married a P.E. Appleberry. There is a William A. Appleberry listed as a neighbor of Jonahan in 1850 along with his wife Parmelia 22. This explains why these children were not on the 1860 Census with Alex and Theresy. They also may be Theresy's siblings and not her children because of the ages. She would have been 11 when Timothy was born. If they are her siblings then her parent died between 1842 and 1850. Now have to find out what happen to Theresy as on the 1870 Census he is listed with a Louisa and some of the children on the 1860 Census. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Thank you Barbie
