Mrs. M.J. Bennett, widow of John Pinkston Bennett, applied for a confederate widow's pension in 1909. John died in 1909 in Callahan Co, TX. They married May 1856 in Trinity Co, Tx. Mrs Bennett was born in Jackson Co. Mississippi, in 1839. She died in 1925 in Cottle Co, Tx in the home of her daughter Mrs. J.T. Tye. I am trying to see if there is a connection between this family and my Laura Bennett, married to Eugene Sage in 1880. She came from this same area of Tx (Callahan Co) or at least lived there at some point.
