I am searching for information on WILLIAM BENNETT born c.1830 He is recorded in the UK census from 1861 onwards but gives different information about his place of birth as follows; 1861 census for Wotton Under Edge ,Gloucestershire ------ Born America,Boston (British Subject) 1871 census for Cromhall ,Gloucestershire --------- Born Essex 1881 census for Cromhall ,Gloucestershire ---------Born Essex ,Wigby 1891 census for Cromhall ,Gloucestershire-----------Born Essex 1901 census for Cromhall ,Gloucestershire -----------Born Essex ,Roghtford He married twice. Firstly to MATILDA EMBURY (also spelt EMERY/EMBRY) of Bath ,Somerset . c.1855 ,no record of this marriage has been located. Secondly to LUCY STANLEY 25/2/1879 at Cromhall, On this certificate he quotes his father as WILLIAM BENNETT ,a hawker ,(which was also his occupation for most of his recorded existance.) I have good information from 1861 onwards but nedd his baptism and first marriage details. Any sightings greatfully received. Graham Bennett
