I also am searching for Bennets from Montgomery Co NC. My 3d greatgrandfather Hiram Howard m Cinthia Bennett in Wilson Co TN in 1818. However he was in Montgomery Co census in 1810, as were several Bennett families, who had been listed since 1790. Solomon Bennett was in Montgomery Co NC from 1790 - 1810, appears in Wilson Co TN in 1820. In 1820 Hiram Howard lived next door to Jacob Bennett. Looks like a migration to TN from Montgomery Co NC after 1810. I have a couple of genealogies of the Montgomery Co Bennets of varying quality. Have not been able to find diffinitive information except for the Solomon Bennett> Etheldred Bennett> Etheldred Bennett succession. This is supported by the land transactions by all three in Wilson Co TN. Am looking into Bennett Wills and Administration in Wilson Co. for possible clues. Also the Rejected Revolutionary War claim of Solomon Bennett. Am still researching, and can only share observations at this time.
