RE: Jacob Bennett in TN I am attempting to dtmn the parents of my 3d ggrandmother Cinthia Bennett, m Hiram Howard in Wilson Co TN. Hiram Howard appeared in the Montgomery Co TN 1810 census living next door to Wm Howard Sr., father to Wm, Bradford, and Nancy Howard Edwards, the latter, wife of Nathaniel. Nathaniel Edwards, Solomon Bennett, Mark Bennett, and Solomon Bennett also lived in Mont. Co NC; Jacob and Mark, both in their thirty's living next door to each other and Solomon, over 45 yrs living apart. In the 1790 census the following Bennetts lived in Montgomery Co, NC: Mark, Solomon, and Drury. By 1815 Bradford and Hiram Howard moved to Wilson Co TN, where Wm Howard's (of Mont. Co NC) was probated. Etheldred Bennett appears also in the 1815 probate administration. In the 1820 census of Wilson Co Jacob Bennett is living next door to Hiram Howard. Between 1812 and 1816 Etheldred Bennett purchased property in Wilson Co TN from Chas Blaloc,. Between 1818 and 1819 the following Bennetts purchased Wilson Co land: Tom, John, William K, Francis and John together; Between 1819-1821 Solomon Bennett purchased land, and later, at the same time, both Solomon and Etheldred Bennett sold land to James Anderson. From 1829 on there are numerous land transactions from the Bennetts. It appears that the Howard and Bennett families may have traveled together from Montgomery Co. NC. to Wilson Co TN . Similarly, the Howard and Edwards families. In the early 1800s there were numerous intermarriages between the Howards, Edwards, and Bennetts in Wilson Co TN. I am going slowly through the court records, some without indexes, some poorly indexed, of Wilson Co to pick up interconnections. Not all the wills survived, so appearances in Circuit Court, usually on guardianship, boundary disputes or debt, and probate administrations (sometimes without the wills) give clues to relationships. -----Original Message----- From: B530-D-request@rootsweb.com <B530-D-request@rootsweb.com> To: B530-D@rootsweb.com <B530-D@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, October 11, 1998 8:18 PM Subject: B530-D Digest V98 #167
