Lew Bennett writes: I have just joined the mail list and will be collecting e-mail (of relavance) about the Bennett surname. E-mail of revelance is defined as those to which I can establish a family connection. Since I am early in my research, this will change over time. What I have right now is that my Bennett's are Elk & McKean County Pennsylvanian's: 1806 James Sr. (no record of occupation or migration) 1848 John Henry + Catherine Edwards 1893 William Emmanuel + Hattie Blanche Reed 1941 Stanley William + Laura Jane Lemon 1972 myself + Beth Ann Spaulding (living in Virginia) I have collected a "Bennett Family history" from the American Genealogical Research institute which I will be reviewing this fall. Briefly, John, James, and William Bennetts immigrated to American everywhere from Maine to Georgia -- dated 1600 to 1750s. I will use the email collection to establish connections between my Pennsylvania's and the English & Irish immigrants listed in the history book, as appropriate.
