Hi everyone, We have a new email address bgodin@home.com
I'm trying to find ANY info on an elusive gggrandfather -John T. Bennett His 2nd wife -my line --was Margaret or Mary Seeders and they had 5 daughters, all born TX., and lived in TX. John was b. 1825\6 in either TN or AL, probably Franklin Co. He was married firstly to ???. His children from Marriage #1 were--Frank b.1851 TX, J.W. "Jim" b. 1855 TX and daughter Johney b. 1858 TX. He along with his second wife, the children from both marriages and his mother and father-in-law and sister-in-law lived in one household in Brown Co. TX--1880 Blanket Precinct #2. At some point they moved to NM as that is where John and wife 2 died. Their daughter Minerva Susan b.1874 TX m. James Franklin HANCOCK>daugh. Lula Minnie- my grandmother-married Wayne Milton LOY. I know the Bennett family was in TX until 1878 at least. I have found the info on SEEDERS tie in. I'm hoping to find someone who has researched him with his first wife and they may have info on him. All the SEEDERS/BENNETT reasearches have nothing on him. I have no further info on him -other than he was supposedly a TX Ranger at some point. I really would like to find John T's parents. All input appreciated Debbie
Sorry, I mistakenly put that the information was in the 1850 Kentucky census, it is actually in the 1850 Wayne Co. MO census. I apologize, Mary
A question has arisen regarding Larkin Bennett b 1771 Virginia d 1859 KY. The question is: If Larkin was married to Elizabeth Dennis then why was she listed in the 1850 KY census with the last name of Dennis and all of the children listed in the home also had the last name of Dennis. If she was his wife would she not be listed as Bennett? Does it not raise a question? She could have had a boarding house or could have been his daughter. Also, we have been unable to find any information regarding the name of Larkin's first wife, the mother of his children. Any clarification of any of this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mary Bennett

Every four months or so, I send this same request. Someday, perhaps, I'll get lucky and someone out there in cyberland will be able to help me make this connection. Looking for an elusive CHARLES BENNETT, probably my great grandfather, who was a harness maker in Galesburg, IL (Knox County) in the late 1870s. Charles is listed in the Galesburg City Directory, 1877-1882 as a harness maker living on S. Cherry Street. He is not listed in the 1870 or 1880 census. I have a death certificate for ANNIE BENNETT, 14 S. Cherry, died April 9, 1879: Age: 17 years, 3 months, 17 days Occupation: housewife Nationality: Sweedish Place of Birth: Bishop Hill, IL Cause of Death: Typhoid Pneumonia Buried: Linwood Cemetery (They have no record, however) They had a child, Laura May (my grandmother), who was raised by the Oley Johnson family west of Galesburg after Annie died. Laura was born in October, 1878. I have been trying to I.D. these people for five years with no luck. Will be glad to pay for research time. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Book covers N.Y., N.J. Penn., Kings Co N.Y., Long Island, etc. William was b. c1605, married c1636 Mary Badye. The birthplace and parentage of William cannot be documented at present. Hi everyone, I am trying to find out some information about my Delphia Bennett. I have no idea who her first husband, father of her 2 oldest children, was. I know from census records that he was b. in Mo but absolutely nothing else. She married secondly John BALL. who was 17 years younger than her. Can anyone help me out with this elusive Delphia and her unknown 1rst husband, Mr. BENNETT? Below is a genealogy report on my Delphia BENNETT. Hope to hear from someone soon. Patsy Turner Carnoali Descendants of Delphia Generation No. 1 1. Delphia1 was born 1840 in Missouri, and died Aft. 1880. She married (1) Bennett. She married (2) John Ball 1/27/1876 in Daviess Co, Missouri. Notes for Delphia: Her father was born in Ohio and her mother was born in Pennsylvania. She is thought to have died when Clarence was about 11 or 12. Notes for John Ball: Both of John's parents were born in Kentucky. He is listed as a farmer in 1880 census. John had 2 stepchildren....Benjamin and Mary Bennett. Supposedly the family moved to Osceola, St. Claire, Missouri when Virgil and Clarence were quite young and John and Delphia died there when Clarence was about 11 or 12. There is a possibility that John may have been raised there as I have found Ball's living in the area. Children of Delphia and Bennett are: 2 i. Benjamin2 Bennett, born 1863-1864 in Missouri. He married Sarah Livingston 7/1/1882 in Ray, Missouri. 3 ii. Mary Bennett, born 1864-1865 in Missouri. The 1880 census shows Benjamin and Mary as both being born in Missouri as well as both of their parents being born in MO. Children of Delphia and John Ball are: 4 i. Virgil2 Ball, born 1877 in Richmond, Ray, Missouri.Notes for Virgil Ball: He may have settled around Osceola, Missouri. 5 ii. Clarence Ball, born 4/2/1880 in Richmond, Ray, Missouri; died 12/3/1948 in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri. Generation No. 2 5. Clarence2 Ball (Delphia1) was born 4/2/1880 in Richmond, Ray, Missouri, and died 12/3/1948 in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri. He married Mary Ellen Heitman, daughter of Jacob Heitman and Anna Lapier. Notes for Clarence Ball: He always said that his parents died when he was young. In 1900, Clarence was listed in the census as a farm laboror with John Allsup in Daviess County, Missouri. 1910 census showed Clarence and Mary Ellen living with Mary Ellen's parents in St. Joseph when first married. Most of the children of Clarence and Mary Ellen died of heart conditions. More About Clarence Ball: Place of Burial: 12/1948, St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri More About Mary Ellen Heitman: Place of Burial: 6/1955, St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri
