Still looking for any information on James Bennett c1756-1795 who lived in Fairfield Twp, Cumberland Co, NJ. The Cumberland Co (southern part of state) BENNETTs do not appear to be related in any way to the BENNETTs in Monmouth Co (northern) NJ. There was a large family of BENNETTs who came to Cumberland Co NJ from Fairfield CT. I haven't been able to tie my James into this line. James married Dorcas BATEMAN. My line is thru their son, Richard, who married Ann HUSTED > Richard Jr m'd Deborah HARRIS > George m'd Naomi CLUNN etc. Any of this sound even vaguely familiar? Looking for great grandfather's family. His name was Abraham Bennett and he was married to Elizabeth Hutchison. They lived in Harrogate, England. My great grandfather was a policeman for the railroad. My grandfather Francis William Bennett was born in 1901 in Harrogate, England. His mother Francis died 10 days after he was born. My grandfather has atleast 1 sibling. The one that I know about was named John Bennett and I know that he died from the flu epidemic of 1918. He died as he was coming home from WWI and died in Selonica, Greece. Are there any English Bennett's out there??? Anyone know of any Bennett posts in England that I can appeal to?? The same with Joseph Bennetts. Would love to connect with any one related to our Joseph Bennett and Eliza Langford. Joseph Bennett was born 1816 in Giles Co, Tenna had Thomas, Jacob, Minerva and Malinda Bennett as siblings Joseph moved to Wayne Co, Ms when he was 16 and then to Rankin Co, Ms he married Eliza Langford in Rankin Co and they had 9 children Robert Langford, Joseph, Minerva (nervy), George Farrar, Josephine, William Walker, Charles, Mary and Cora Malinda. NC.(wife Mary Ann Usher) George's son was John W. Bennett b. 10-9-1844 d. 7-12-1915 (wife Mary Elizabeth Gibson b. 1858-1929) I can find many John Bennetts, but no one with a Jennie bounds. Mrs. M.J. Bennett, widow of John Pinkston Bennett, applied for a confederate widow's pension in 1909. John died in 1909 in Callahan Co, TX. They married May 1856 in Trinity Co, Tx. Mrs Bennett was born in Jackson Co. Mississippi, in 1839. She died in 1925 in Cottle Co, Tx in the home of her daughter Mrs. J.T. Tye. I am trying to see if there is a connection between this family and my Laura Bennett, married to Eugene Sage in 1880. She came from this same area of Tx (Callahan Co) or at least lived there at some point. I haven't posted in awhile and I STILL can't find John Thomas' parents, etc. I've been told by family that his father was from/born in KY? But then again they are the same ones that said John Thomas was born in AL!! LOL John's wife M.E. SEEDERS was married before to a Mr. Ferguson, if that helps.
