Have two Bennetts I am researching. 1) Lewis H Bennett, b, c. 1828. Was in 18th Ga Inf in Civil War. M. Naomi (Maiden name unknown) and sons possibly Matthew and a stepson, William Denson. He is shown in the 1880 Census for Twiggs County Ga. 2) Susan Bennett, b. c. 1847, m. William Richard Davis, b. c. 1837. Their children Anna b. c 1866 and Ishabod, b c 1869. Charles bought the Putnam Co land in 1837 when he was living in Wayne Co. Ohio. He died in 1856 in Jay Co. Indiana. This land was not sold until a public auction in 1892 according to the records at Putnam Co. Ohio courthouse. At that time the following people were present, Alexander BENNETT, Charles Henry BENNETT, Catherine M. RODGERS, Harriet R. SWIHART, and Sarah BURNS. I don't know where these people were living. I would guess they lived in Indiana or Ohio. Alexander may be the s/o Joseph and Catherine (JOHNSON) BENNETT of Mercer Co Ohio and a grandson of Charles BENNETT. The others listed may be the children of Alexander. I know Charles and Phoebe had 5 children: Joseph and John who lived in Mercer Co. Ohio. Sarah (md Joseph Frank), Emeline (md Benjamin R.
