Sorry for the multiple posting, but I want to get an idea of people's interest in online census records. I want to get a film scanner so that I can scan the census records and put them online so that people can view the actual pages without having to pay for them. My Questions are: 1) When a person asks for a lookup, how are the volunteers finding the information - by microfilm, transcripts, online searches, CD ROM, Etc.? 2) Are the census records available now online (either by subscription or for free)? And what is the format (view the actual pages or view a transcript)? 3) Are all the census records available on CD ROM? And what is the format (view the actual pages or view a transcript)? 4) Would people be interested in on online census records by page and transcription? Thank you.
