    3. Exciting Genealogical News: 1992 was the last National Genealogy Conference to be held in Phoenix, so you know how excited we are to announce that GENTECH has chosen Phoenix as the Host City for their 2003 conference. Some of you are saying, what is GENTECH? Simply stated it is a Genealogy Technology Conference. Each year the program provides the best opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in Technology and Genealogy. The first GENTECH was held January, 1993 in Dallas, Texas before there was a World Wide Web, Windows and most of our genealogy programs. We've come a long way baby. Most of us wonder now how we ever got along without the computer and the Internet. GENTECH 2003 will be held on Friday and Saturday January 17 & 18 at the Phoenix Civic Plaza. The theme will be "Digital Technology - The Ancestral Frontier." National Conference and Program chairs for the event are Rusty Perry and Jeannie Rogers. If you would like to volunteer, and be a part of this exciting event contact Barbara Reeves Whittaker at [email protected] or 480-892-1778. You can also check out the web site, and fill out the volunteer form at http://www.agcig.org/gt03.htm. Volunteers will be needed in January to start work on the publicity campaign for this event. Suzanne Siders is the Chair of that Committee. Feel free to pass this message on to your membership and genealogy friends, and be sure and included it in your next newsletter. We will keep you updates on the events for GENTECH 2003.
