Hello, My name is Vickie Ortiz and I have recently launched a website called idaphoto in order to identify unknown lost photos that are inherited, found in antique shops, and found after a natural disaster. These are photos that are someone's mother, sister, brother, son, grandparents, great grandparents etc. We are hoping to get as many as possible identified and reunited with their families. The reason we are sending this to you is to let you know we are an available resource to help you with any photos you do not know the identity of. It must be of a person or persons. Also, you can take a look at the photos we do have and see if you recognize anyone? Please see link below. www.idaphoto.net If you see a photo that you recognize would you please contact us at the link provided on the website. Thank you! Vickie Ortiz www.idaphoto.net

I'm looking for some feedback on an ancestry website I created for beginners. It's a collection of free ancestry resources and how to use them. My wife convinced me to put this website together. I kept getting questions from people who knew I was doing ancestry research. They wanted to know where to go to get information about their ancestry. So I put this website together: http://sites.google.com/site/FunSimpleFreeAncestry It contains a lot of links to websites that are already in many of the GenWeb County websites. I just put them all together with examples of how to use them. I've been tracking the hits on each page and have removed a couple and added some. I think I have the right balance now. At least people seem to be looking at all of the pages on the website. Please feel free to pass this email onto anyone or any group that may find it useful. Thanks, Dan Smith
Hello- New on this site. I have bumbled into a fascinating family connection that takes me to Nogales from around 1899 to 1913. My great aunt, Mary Ellen ROBINSON (then Beaumont by an early first marriage) - married an Albert M. CONARD in Red Bluff, Tehama County, California , Feb 11, 1892. They first seem to have gone to Williams, Arizona where Albert owned and operated a Brewery and ice plant. Then in 1899, Albert is in the Phoneix newspapers saying that he is leaving Williams to move to Nogales and operate a brewery and ice plant there. I don't know what became of that business , but Albert Conard made his fortune in copper mining - mostly in Sonora Mexico, it seems, although he kept his residence in Nogales. He and Mary seperated or divorced (sometime 1899 - 1902?) and Albert married a Francescia I. Valencia from Mexico sometime in 1904. She states that she came to Nogales in 1903 (and Naturalized that same year). Some of the companies that Albert worked for or owned were: Hayes-Danies(?)-Conard (copper properties in the Cananea district is "in the city") Hays Consolidated Mining, Milling and Lumber company SONORA CONSOLIDATED MINING & SMELTING CO. (International Copper Ore Corporation, Legalized in Mexico) Albert seems to have left Nogales as a residence around 1913 -but not before a fascinating interaction with a Mexican "legend", Emilio Kosterlitzky., whom I am reading up about. I wonder if Naturalization records are located in Nogales or the State Archives? How about records of mines? Land records? I am planning a quick trip to Phoenix next week and plan to stop into the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records - anything I should particularly look into there? (PS. Sadly, Albert's first wife, "my" Mary Conard died as a prostitute in the Red Light district of Tucson in April of 1902. I have a fascinating newspaper account of the murder - suicide - her lover shot her - and have many questions of what could have led her to such a decline.) Chris Klukkert in Lompoc, California ************** Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape. http://body.aol.com/fitness/winter-exercise?NCID=aolcmp00300000002489
The 1920 Census for Elgin, Santa Cruz County, District 125, Arizona, listed my 73 year old Great Grandmother, Phoebe Elizabeth Arnwine. However the way it was written caused it to be interpreted as Phebia E Annine. Could you help me find additional information about her. I think she was buried near Elgin; however, I've seen material that she died in TN. When did she arrive in Santa Cruz County? Thanks, William Carrol Arnwine
Looking for anyone with ties to the Fry Family of Cochise County, Arizona I posted this to a couple lists earlier. I apologize for any duplication .. The Fry Family was one of the first families to help form the city of Sierra Vista, Cochise County, Arizona. May, 2006, Sierra Vista will be celebrating its 50th birthday. If anyone can help 'fill in the blanks' for this family ... everyone at the historical society (and Sierra Vista .. :- )) would be grateful. Sorry for the multiple posting, but I want to get an idea of people's interest in online census records. I want to get a film scanner so that I can scan the census records and put them online so that people can view the actual pages without having to pay for them. My Questions are: 1) When a person asks for a lookup, how are the volunteers finding the information - by microfilm, transcripts, online searches, CD ROM, Etc.? 2) Are the census records available now online (either by subscription or for free)? And what is the format (view the actual pages or view a transcript)? 3) Are all the census records available on CD ROM? And what is the format (view the actual pages or view a transcript)? 4) Would people be interested in on online census records by page and transcription? Thank you.
