    3. Hello! I was born and raised in Ajo and still have some immediate family and friends there! I now live in Wisconsin, however. Part of what I was going to suggest was what Nancy Sawyer suggested: to check the AZ archives! WONDERFUL resource! And I don't know if either of you is within traveling distance of Ajo, but if you are you might want to check out the Ajo Museum. The link below will give you a description of the museum along with the address, hours and phone number. http://arizona-vacation.us/AjoHistoricaMuseum.html Also, there is a local newspaper going back to 1916 called the Ajo Copper News. It's still in print today. I know that the Ajo Copper News themselves has an archive (although I don't believe they do lookups--but one can come and look for themselves) and the Ajo Historical Museum also has their own archive of the Copper News. I'm not sure how far back or for what years these archives are. Also, for all I know, the AZ Archives might even have an archive of the Ajo Copper News! Actually, I'd be intersted to know that. (That would be a question for Nancy!) But the Ajo Copper News is a GREAT resource for birth announcements, wedding announcements and obituaries, not to mention some local info. Hope this helps! --Sharyl Williams ----- Original Message ----- From: snowpine@earthlink.net To: AZPIMA-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2003 11:35 AM Subject: [AZPima] Re: info on Ajo AZ mining claims about 1870 to 1915 This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
