Surnames: McBRIDE, STEVENSON, FUNNELL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/zU.2ADE/397 Message Board Post: Hi-- I am trying to locate the obit for my grandmother, Mollie McBRIDE STEVENSON FUNNELL She was born Mollie McBRIDE in Mar 1897 in Indian Territory. She married my grandfather, Robert Wade STEVENSON, in Cement, OK on 20 Dec 1914. They divorced, I think in Pima County, but I do not know when. I have been told that she remarried a minister by the name of Arthur FUNNELL, and I belive she was married to him until she died. I am told she died in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Arthur died in August 1969. I assume they are buried together, but I do not know which cemetery. I can send payment or exchange research in central Virginia. Any help will be appreciated.

    1. [AZPima] Mollie McBride Stevenson Funnell
    2. Hi-- I am new to the list. My name is Meg Stevenson-Scaringe and I live in Schuyler, Virginia. I never met anyone in my father's family, so began research a couple of years ago. Here is where I am now: I was born Margaret Mary STEVENSON, 29 April 1955, in Oakland, California. My parents were Jackson Wade STEVENSON and Mary Joann VICKERY, who married in 1953 in Carmel, California. Jackson Wade STEVENSON was born 10 May 1918 in Cyril, Caddo County, OK and married for the first time in Tucson, AZ to Ima Mae Gibbons, ca 1937. There were two children born to that union, who still live in AZ. My half sister, Jackie STEVENSON (now Jackie Taylor), is 63 and lives in Tucson. She has a brother Jerry STEVENSON, who goes by Jerry Goode, lives, I think in Phoenix. My father, Jackson Wade STEVENSON, was the child of Robert Wade STEVENSON and Mollie McBRIDE. They married 20 Dec 1914, in Cement, Caddo County, OK. They later divorced, I believe in Tucson, but do not know when. Mollie later remarried to a minister, by the name of Arthur FUNNELL. He died July 1969 in Tucson, according to the SSDI. Mollie apparently did not apply for a Social Security number. Mollie died in Tucson in the late 1960s or early 1970s. I have tried writing for her death certificate, but AZ Vital Records denied me access to it. Is there anyone out there who has obituary or cemetery listings for Tucson? Does anyone have any knowledge of these people? As I said, I live in Central Virginia, and would be happy to do some lookups here in exchange for help out there in AZ. Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any help. Best regards, Meg Stevenson-Scaringe

Most libraries have a reference person who will do these requests. Here is the address to it. Some of the libraries in Tuscon won't do this through the mail due to the enormous amount of requests they get, but I haven't contacted Green Valley before. It's worth a try.
