    1. [Maricopa] Re: DANNER Family in Maricopa Co., AZ
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: DANNER, MARTIN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xU.2ADE/414.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Carol - The thought occurred to me that the "Jack DANNER" listed in the directory might have been born in Arizona if Will is his father and Fannie is his mother given the unconfirmed information that Will died circa 1929 in Arizona. If so, it might be worthwhile to write the Arizona Vital Records asking for a copy of a birth certificate. The rules to acquire a birth certificate are not very genealogist friendly. If you go to USGENWEB.com, then click on Arizona and work down to the Maricopa site, the site co-ordinator Amber Cory has great tips of how to acquire records from Maricopa record keepers. If you think you can satisfy the Arizona requirements for a birth record, you might want to give that a try. Regarding obituaries, if you use the "Advanced Search" utility at this board, and in the text box type in "Mesa Public Library" or "Mesa Library" and click on "Maricopa" so to search only the Maricopa messages you'll find past postings advising how to order free of charge an obituary from the database at the Mesa Public Library. You can order the obituary by Internet or by fax. I did a quick check of my 1975 Phoenix metro phone book which includes all adjoining towns and cities to Phoenix and found no listing for a "Jack DANNER" and of course none for Fannie because I believe you indicated she was deceased by 1975. Of course Jack DANNER could have been there but possibly just had an unlisted phone number or no phone number at all. As previously mentioned I'll do some more lookups back before 1960 when I return after Labor Day. Good luck and I hope these other ideas are helpful. Glen F. Pritchett, USGENWEB volunteer
