    1. [Maricopa] Re: Rawden MILLER - obituary please
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: MILLER, SMITH Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xU.2ADE/413.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Lori - You're welcome, just sorry nothing more conclusive was produced. Rawden as a given name is quite unique. I looked at the 1920 census index with and without soundex and only 2 "Rawden" first names come up. Even a search on Google for "Rawden" only turned 1,700 hits on hundreds of millions of web pages. Conversely, trying Ray as an example over 52,000 "Ray" first names are shown for the 1920 census. Sometimes, we can't find a person and their correctly spelled name became a "hand me down" spelling or phonetic attempts are responsible for the person being difficult to find. I was recently searching for a aunt whose first name was Edna (correct spelling), but no search utility would pick it up because the actual record was misspelled as Adna. By the way the name Rawden seems to be of English heritage. You might consider trying the Mesa Public Library for a obituary search. If you go to the search utility at this board and enter "Mesa Public Library" or "Mesa Library" on the text line and make sure the search is examining the Maricopa postings only and not all boards, instructions will be found as how to request a free obituary search from the library. I believe they will require his date of death to help speed any search process. I checked Knowx.com and they do have one public record for sale that shows a "Rawden Miller" as having died in Phoenix. The record is available on line for $5.95 and may give you the details of his address and exact date of death. I believe the record copy from the SSA is up to $27.00 so Knowx.com may be a less expensive option if you don't need all the SS-5 information. Good luck in your efforts. Glen F.
