Rhodehouse, 79, formerly of Loveland, died June 22, 2002, in Mesa, Ariz. He was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Palo Alto, Calif. Floyd served in the Navy as a torpedoman first class at Pearl Harbor during World War II. He spent many years in grocery retail in California. The family moved to Loveland in 1963. He and his wife, Vera, opened Loveland Discount Center in 1964. They retired in 1986 and moved to Arizona. Floyd and Vera were married for 58 years and lived in Leisure World in Mesa. He enjoyed playing golf every day. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family. Since his passing, so many have called and said, "I really respected your father. Your husband was a man of principle. He had such a great sense of humor. He was so strong and charismatic." Floyd loved his country and believed in defending it. He loved his family and believed in setting a high mark for them. His family continues in that legacy. As we reflect we can all say, "Floyd was truly a great man." He is survived by his wife, Vera; daughters Cindy Denton-Corbett of Loveland, DeeDee Butler of Tempe, Ariz., and Judy Mortensen of Fort Collins; nine grandchildren, Scott, Christine, Cameron, Sheila, Shelly, Mark, Aaron, Andrea and Alissa; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Earl and Ray of California; and sister June Gallaher of California.
