It's good to see the list is working and is not moderated by an absent list owner. Here is a new website I just finished. It creates Google Earth Maps in the USA for features listed in the GNIS database (cemeteries, churches, schools, etc). If you are interested in that, the program is located here: http://www.mflan.com/cgi-bin/gnis.cgi This is an example of the output created. Camden county MO cemeteries: http://www.mflan.com/temp/camdencemeteries.kml You need Google Earth to view that file: http://www.google.com/earth/explore/products/ It is free. This is not fully tested. If you have problems with the program I would appreciate it if you told me about the problem. If you find it frustrating to get the information you need, or you want a bunch of counties put together, I recommend that you contact me directly to produce that for you. It doesn't take me long to do this and I'm glad to get the information out there. Just ask for it. Mike
Hello everybody, I've been researching the RAMSPOTT family for some years now, but there are still problems. This is one of them: Leonard 'Red' Ramspott, 1912-1986, he died in Arizona, but his Social Security Number was given in Missouri; married with Rebecca L. Hailey. According to Census 1920 Leonard R. was a grandson of a "Laura B. Ramspott", according to Census 1930 he was her son! At least, I know that Laura B., she was the wife of Frank / Franz R. Ramspott, who came to the US in 1881. But who was that Leonard? Does anyone know something about Leonard and his family? There was also a son Antohony ('Tony') Wayne Ramspott, member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, born Granite City, Illinois, 1961 July 15, died 2012 January 10. He was buried on St. Louis Calvary Cemetery. His last home was in Festus, Jefferson County; no children known. According to his obituary, Anthony Wayne was"survived by Brothers & Sisters: Arthur Long, Jr., San Antonio, TX, Joyce (William) Sternberg, Festus, MO, Judy (Floyd) Rush, Corning, AR, David (Karen) Owings, Festus, MO (preceded in death by one sister, Jo Ann Daughty)." Does anyone know something about Leonard and his family? Maybe someone even could get in contact with one of the mentioned chldren of Leonard? Accepting any help Bernd from Germany

The IAHC was our Centennial Legacy Project working with the State Historic Preservation Office. Its purpose is to gather a comprehensive inventory of the historic cemeteries and burial sites (over 50 years old) in Arizona. Now that the Centennial has passed, it is an ongoing project. On our website is information and a list of the cemeteries identified so far (more than 600). There is a form on the website for recording the information we seek for the inventory. If you know of a cemetery we have missed, or one that needs corrections, or have visited and photographed a historic burial site, we would much appreciate your sharing that information and photos with the PCA. We are a small organization headquartered in Phoenix and would love to have interested parties and members from all over the state. Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.
