William Williamson and Jessie Anderson Jess Grandparents .. James Hazel Jess & Jessie Anderson JHJ was born 23 May 1887 .. died 6 March 1959 in Ballochmyle Hospital. They were married 5 December 1913 at 96 Dailly Road, Maybole. You were right .. they lived at 7 Allans Hill, Maybole, as did I until I joined the Royal Air Force in 1962. GGrandparents were David Jess and Mary Wason Brown David Jess notes ..... Death Certificate states:- David Jess Ploughman (Retired) married to Mary Wason Brown died 3rd June 1950 at 6.15am at 47 Coral Glen, Maybole Father = James Jess Ploughman (deceased) ..... Mother Janet Jess ms Drennan (deceased) Cause = Cerebral Haemorhage - 7 days. Arterio selerosis ... as certified by H.G. Edinburgh GRO - Ref no 1911 - 605 - 34 Formerly ploughman, married to Janet Drynan, died on 6 May 1911 at 3pm at Townend, Maybole, aged 81 years. His parents were Robert Jess, ploughman, deceased, and his mother was Elizabeth Wallace, deceased. His death was registered by his son John Jess, of 7 Weaver Vennel, Maybole, on 6 May 1911. Cause of death was valvular disease of the heart (for 1 yr 6 m), and acute bronchitis (for 7 days). James Jess and Janet Drynan are listed in the 1881 census as living at Dunduff Cothouse, Maybole, Ayrshire. N.B. Weaver Vennel is now called Ladywell Road. Dunduff is near Dunure. Janet was born 23 April 1830 in Ballantrae Janet's notes ..... Listed in the 1881 census as living at Dunduff Cothouse, Maybole, Ayrshire.(near Dunure) with her husband James Jess. Her age was given as 49. We have 10 children listed for them. GGG Grandparents .... Robert Jess and Elizabeth Wallace. Robert was born about 1781 and died 2 Feb 1857 in Knock, parish of Leswalt. George was born before 1761 and died before 1857. He is listed as being from Ireland but we have been unable to find the link in Ireland.
