He was born 27 July 1846 in Glenluce, Wigtonshire. His parents were John and Mary (McCartney) McCluskie who were born in Wigtonshire about 1820. His grandparents were John and Agnes (maiden name unknown) McCluskie. Their place of birth is unknown (could be Ireland). Henrietta, born 13 Aug 1846, was the daughter of William Logan (1819-1894)and Mary Craig (1817-1879) also of Ayrshire. John and Henrietta were married 1 January 1867. The 1871 Census has them living in Beith, Ayrshire. They emigrated to Canada in 1873 with their 4 sons, Alexander, John, William and James. They had 6 more children in Canada, all daughters, including the youngest, my grandmother, Elizabeth. Any information on these McCluskies and/or Logans and their predecessors would be most appreciated.
