Thanks to Johan for posting about the free week-end at Ancestry.co.uk 1901 and 1911 Census for England and the 1901 for Scotland. It works fine from Canada, too. In the 1901 Census, I've found the family of Richard Carey (b. 1844, Ireland) in Civil parish: Barrhead and Levern, Renfrewshire, with wife Mary and 3 sons. At the side, it says this family is also in the 1891 Census, but you can't access the data unless you sign-up. If anyone has access to the 1891 and would be good enough to let me have details of this family, I would sure appreciate it.
