Nancy I assume that you plan to Fly form Boston to Edinburgh? How are you planning to go from Edinburgh to Kilmarnock? While in Kilmarnock, you will need to go to the Burns Memorial Centre. This is the Local Studied Library for East Ayrshire and "should" be able to tell you if they have records for the Churches, including maps of the graves, you want to visit in East Ayrshire. It is across the river from the Bus centre. I do not have their Email address but you should get it by goggling the East Ayrshire Council website. Irvine is in North Ayrshire and you will need to contact their Local Studies Centre, which I understand is now located in Stevenston (not sure what the parking is like there). I know they have records of graveyards but I can't recall if it is only up to the mid 1800's or not. So you will need to go to the North Ayrshire Council website to find their Email address to get their location. Ayr (town) is in South Ayrshire. Their Local Studies centre is in the Carniege (?) Library in the middle of Ayr and parking is a problem. Again you will have to look at the South Ayrshire Council website. Good hunting and have a good trip.
