    3. One of the best on the East Coast of the U.S. is Grandfather Mountain Highland Games at Linville, Avery County, North Carolina. I've been there about six times over the past 12 years. This is their website: http://www.gmhg.org/ Loretta (Lynn) Layman -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mike Boyd Sent: Sunday, March 17, 2013 8:19 PM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: [AYR] Mike Boyd trip to USA in May/June 2013 I wish to advise list members that I will be leaving Brisbane, Australia on Wednesday 22 May and flying to Lexington KY to day to go to the Greenville SC Highland Games on Saturday 25 May. While on 22 & 23 June I will be at the Celtic Fling and Highland Games in Lancaster, PA Games. I will be returning to Australia from LAX on Wednesday 3 July at 11.55 pm (4th of July permitting). If anyone knows of any other Scottish Games on the East Coast of USA (or even perhaps in Ontario, Canada) that they have gone to in the past and would like me to visit, please let me know. If you do, I am thinking that we could ask (or see) if any of the other Ayrshire Clans might have a tent in which we might be able to join for the period. Such Clans as Wallace, Cunningham, Kennedy, Muir, Campbell, Crawfurd, Montgomery, Fullerton, Blair, Hay and Stewart. Hopefully, that can be sorted out by Sunday 24 March 2013. I can then see if any of the Boyd members would like to host a history meeting in their location, so I can talk to people about getting started on their family tree research, how they organise their research and document storage and outlining what I know about Boyd History in Scotland, Ireland and the USA. As Boyds all had spouses, so our history is also mixed with the Spouses Clan. While my main area of study is Clan Boyd, I would expect that most of the other Ayrshire Clans have a similar migration path as the Boyds to other parts of the World including the USA. I then work out the third part of my trip of what Libraries I need to go to to find and copy New Boyd family details to add to 730 Boyd families that I already have all ready collected for the Clan Boyd Pyramid and the other 1500, or so, new family Chapters that I still have to work on form my last 4 trips overseas.
