Hi I know it must be disappointing to see details of local history conferences which one would love to attend but it's not realistic to hope for details from such meetings. Some of the speakers attend other conferences and meetings where they give more or less the same talk ...possibly slanting it for that particular audience. To make a recording or a transcription would render that talk unusable in the future. Having said that, some talks on family history topics have been recorded. The National Archives at Kew have a lot of recordings on their website http://media.nationalarchives.gov.uk/index.php/category/audio/ Irene South Ayrshire History Fair scheduled for June 1 at Troon. As their page > describes, Professor Dauvit Brown of Glasgow University is going to > speak on new information regarding William Wallace, and provide details > of an unknown letter by Robert the Bruce he found in the British Library > just before Christmas. I have just sent a message to a Jean Inness at > South Ayrshire government asking if any details will be provided after > the conference for those of us unable to attend might be allowed access > to.
