I have in my Kinhelp private research library printed copies of several protocol books by notaries in the 1500s and 1600s, but these are rare. Only about 50 survive for the whole of Scotland, and most have very few entries in them. I have ones of Gavin Ros, John Mason, and Robert Broun, who all operated in Ayrshire. I also have a photocopy of the Protocol Book of James Colvill of Carrick. Your Andrew Dalrymple appears in a number of records of the period.
