I did find a snippet of a source that I am waiting to hear back on from the Clan Campbell Society of North America. It is from their journal, citation as follows: "Ancestry of Major General Wendell Campbell-Carter and his Sister Anne Campbel Smith"Journal of the Clan Campbell (1987) v14-16, p38 ..."is son, Hugh, went back to Scotland and returned with three sons, Andrew of Mansfield, Connecticut, David, and Charles, ... There is a theory that Hugh Campbell's second son David might be the same as the first member of the family on ..." ---- This David Campbell lived and died in Hampden County, Massachusetts, up the river valley from Mansfield.
