I'm hitting a brick wall at the minute with info that I have to date. Any Gillan information would be useful to see if there is a connection somewhere. Known family lived in Rutherglen, Cambuslang and Ireland, however some of the family could of emigrated to USA or CANADA too. John Gillan was born approx 1934 in Rutherglen, Glasgow. His parents were Lawrance & Margaret, however I don't seem to be able to find out anything about his father. I think Lawrance also known as Larry may have been born in Ireland but where i don't know. I do know John married Ann McCoubray in Kilmarnock in 1869, however he was deceased at that time. His occupation was a coal miner. Furthermore John was married previously as it states widower on his marriage certificate to Ann but who too? He married Ann on the 10th June 1869, St Joseph's Chapel, Kilmarnock. John was a coal miner and lived in Fife. Ann lived in Irvine Road, Kilmarnock. Her parents were Samuel & Margaret. Any information would be useful and thank you in advance.
