    3. Hi Johan, I have researched the Fullartons back to Alanus born C 1230. The origins of Rosetta are a mystery, at least as to who her mother was. I am fairly convinced that Colonel William Fullarton of Fullarton was her father, however the first mention I have found of her is in 1794 when she gave Fullarton House as her address when subscribing to A. Guthrie, bookseller of Edinburgh, for Hector MacNiel’s “Scotlands Skaith”. She is referred to in a Deed of Settlement made by Colonel Fullarton and he is referred to on her marriage record as her father. She was interred at Restalrig Church yard in the tomb of Alexander Tait WS, however I have not been able to find details of any inscription that may be attached to Tait’s tomb. A grandson of Stewart Murray Fullarton became Harbour Master of Melbourne and I have found references to other Fullarton descendents in India, Australia and New Zealand. I have found descendents of his liaison with Mary Boyd in Australia and the USA as well as records and graves in New Zealand. Colonel William Fullarton of Fullarton was an extremely intelligent and industrious person, he appears to have had one serious deficiency however, he seems to have been less than careful with who he trusted and employed and how he oversaw his finances.
