    3. Carol, for maps of the time go to the National Library of Scotland website and search for maps and also Wynd Farm Galston. In present times these old farms have be subdivided a number of times to create housing estates. Back in the 1700-1800s they were often owned by Dukes and Lords etc many small cottages were built for the workers to live in if they worked the estate, not so many of them remain today.
