Too many people take a likely birth and attach it to their ancestor with no proof that it belongs. If you asked the owner of the that website (or whoever supplied the info) they would most likely say that "women married young back then" which is nonsense. Although prior to 1929 the legal marriage age in Scotland followed Roman law in allowing a girl to marry at twelve years of age and a boy at fourteen, without any requirement for parental consent, in practice this never happened. The average marriage age in the 18th & 19th centuries in Scotland was early 20s for women and mid to late 20s for men. You tended to find them marrying earlier in major cities and later in the country. You might want to research that birth on your own as many more records are available to the public than in the past.
