If not it would appear that they emigrated sometime between 1834 (the birth of their son William) and 1841. In that case you would be very unlikely to be able to prove which John and Sarah births are 'yours'. Bear in mind that not all baptisms were recorded, and of those which were recoded not all of them have survived the passage of time. There is also the possibility that John and/or Sarah were Irish. John's surname in particular was very popular in Ireland. Hopefully they'll still have been in Scotland in 1841 or even 1851 so that you can approximately where and when they were born.
