Hi, I am looking for information on my ggg grandfather William Currie. On his daughter Elizabeth's birth certificate (my gg grandmother) he is recorded as having married his wife Elizabeth spence on march 28th 1854 in Ayr. His occupation is a labourer. He is deceased by the time his daughter marries in 1887. I can't find any census records of him with his family nor a death certificate on Scotlands people. Anyone else have any record of him? Thanks Valerie ,Adelaide
Hi Valerie, Can you give us Elizabeth's birth year & place? Also William & his wife Elizabeth's approx age? Makes it a bit easier when searching census records. Valerie Where did Elizabeth get married? (ii) Where did you find Elizabeth, mother and siblings in the Census? (iii) Where in Ayrshire was Elizabeth born? (iv) and finally what spelling variations have you looked in the Census under Currie? Answers to these question may help others to help you.
