My great grandfather was William Hunter Knox bn. 1881. I haven't been able to trace where the Hunter came from yet. His father was John Knox, born in Beith in 1828. John's parents were Samuel Knox (weaver) who married a Jean Knox. I haven't been able to trace their marriage so far. Did you have any more luck pinning down the Hunter connection ?
