Hi J H McDonnell I know I am not descended from John Brown of Priesthill but we may share an ancestor prior to 1570. My Brown ancestors lived for over 400 years in the parishes of Galston and Sorn (then known as Dalgain) in east Ayrshire. My ancestor James Brown married a Janet Waussoun in Dalgain in 1570. These areas were close to Priesthill. I would like to see if my 36 point Y-DNA result matches any Brown surnamed descendent who can prove their descent from John Brown of Priesthill.
