Deceased was an Engineer on steamer Western Slope, having been employed by Canadian Pacific Navigation Co for several years. One daughter is left to mourn the loss of a fond and affectionate father. She was widow of Richard Gibson, at one time a mayor of Nanaimo. In the influenza epidemic of 1918 her daughter, Grace, died, and the mother, whose sight was failing left Nanaimo.
