Hi Meg, I believe that "delations" were formal charges or accusations of wrongdoing against a parishioner that were laid before the elders, based on information provided by witnesses. The "delated" sinner was expected to appear and answer the charge, and if found guilty by the kirksession, pay a fine, perform a public penance of some kind, and/or acknowledge its truth.
