Hello Listers, I'm in the process of confirming information sent to me over some years. I cannot find parents for Marion CARNOCHAN/var. She did marry William CROSBY (c.1792- Aug 1882) on 12 Feb 1820 Maybole AYR. And 11 children have been found for them. The MI for Marion, erected by husband William and in Alloway cemetery does not refer to Marion's parents. Carrick-Ayrshire pre1855 MI's - a degraded stone so some numbers are best-guessed. I have just searched for a death registration for Marion on the scotlandspeople website, and for an OPR. Both not there. If Marion and husband William kept to the Scots naming pattern then Marion's father would be Mathew CARNOCHAN. Mathew would fit with the information sent to me: Father Matthew CARNOCHAN and mother Anaple EDGAR. Anaple is my line and a x3 gt. aunt to me. I have found 5 children on the BVRI for Anaple and Matthew - but not Marion. There is a Mary CARNOCHAN b. 12 Dec 1792, Leswalt, WIG with father William. Might Mary be Marion? Would sks try and find Marion's parents for me? I'm getting that feeling that she is not part of my 'tree'. Regards, Judy in BC Can
