Not very likely Mike - he was a domestic servant, later butler to Colonel Blair of Blair and in those days (1828) the best they could hope for was the village midwife. They were married in the Church of England Parish Church in Clifton by licence which stated they had both been there at least 15 days, so obviously wanted a proper church wedding even though both were Church of Scotland for everything except this marriage. It is I suppose conceivable that the Colonel had gone there and took his household with him - I know he did when going to his Edinburgh house.
